Question: Has the internet made music/fashion trends painfully homogeonized?
Back in the 90s, the large cities were current with the music and fashion scenes, but the rural areas were left behind.
When something new would start in California, it would take about 6 years for it to reach the rural areas.
Now it’s instant. Everyone wears and listens to the same thing because of instantaneous access to pop culture through the internet.

So true….
Another thing is that now, if you want music, you can just go online and buy it. As opposed to before, when people had to go to CD or record stores to get their music. So if you just want a certain song, that’s all you get. You never get exposed to anything other then the things you have already heard and know you want to listen to.
When people had to go to a CD store, they would have to look through a lot of stuff to find what they wanted, and in the meantime see other types of music.
